Hi, this is Senator Paul Bettencourt telling you why propositions 11 and 13 will cut your property tax bills. We’re going to raise school homestead exemptions to record levels, for those under 65, we’re going to raise it 40% to $140,000, but wait we’re not done yet, if you’re over 65 disabled we’re going to tack on another $60,000 for a combined $200,000 property tax exemption. That’s going to take seniors, half of them, to pay no property tax bills wherever you are in the state. For those under 65 you’re going to get a permanent reduction with property tax rate cuts of $484 a year, for those over 65 disabled will be $907 dollars a year. You can see why you need to vote for Propositions 11 and 13 because it’s going to cut your property tax school bills permanently.
Early voting is going on now until Friday, October 31. Election Day is November 4.
