Steve Munisteri to Advise Texas Senate Republican Caucus in Consulting Role
Formerly served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Director of the Office of Public Liaison and is the former Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas
AUSTIN – One of the most respected Republicans in Texas, Steve Munisteri, will advise the Texas Senate Republican Caucus in a consulting capacity for the 86th Legislative Session. Munisteri formerly served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas (2010 – 2015), as well as a Senior Advisor to Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) and RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. Most recently he served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Director of the Office of Public Liaison at the White House. His expertise in the political and legislative process will help the Texas Senate, under the leadership of Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and the well-recognized nineteen member Texas Senate Republican Caucus, to enact conservative solutions to Texas’ challenges, per Caucus Chairman Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston).
“It has been a great honor to serve in the White House with the Trump Administration,” said Steve Munisteri. “I look forward to getting right back to work in Texas with the Texas Senate Republican Caucus to advocate for common sense solutions and ensure Texas remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Munisteri will bring decades of experience in the political arena with him as when he undertakes this new role. His previous success has included the formation of the Young Conservatives of Texas. He went on to become the Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas where he successfully oversaw the 2010 election that resulted in a super-majority in the Texas House as well as electing Republicans to every statewide office in Texas. As part of his effort as Chairman of RPT he successfully retired roughly $700,000 of recurring party debt, putting the Party in a great financial position for their future election efforts.
“Steve’s resume and experience speak for themselves,” said Caucus Vice-Chairman Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe). “His decades of experience and successful track record in politics and policy enactment will be a great addition to the Texas Senate Republican Caucus’ team.”
“The Texas Senate Republican Caucus has proven to be one of the most effective legislative caucuses in the country and the addition of Steve Munisteri only further enhances that,” continued Caucus Deputy Vice-Chair Angela Paxton (R-McKinney). Caucus Treasurer Bryan Hughes (R-Mineola) added, “We will continue the fight to ensure that the Texas business climate remains strong and offers opportunity and prosperity to all Texans.”
The Texas Senate Republican Caucus first expanded their role during the 85th Legislative Session to help advance conservative solutions to Texas’ challenges. The Caucus includes all 19 Republican members of the Texas Senate.
“Given Texas’ importance in national politics, and its status as the job creation engine for the nation, Steve’s return to Texas will be cheered by all Republican activists that know his proven track record so well,” concluded Chairman Paul Bettencourt.
