Paul Bettencourt, businessowner, KSEV Radio personality, and former Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector, announced his candidacy for Texas Senate, District 7, on June 27th. Today he announced the results of his first poll done by the nationally prominent firm of Baselice & Associates (polling memo linked). The poll was conducted July 17-18.
“The Bettencourt name is known by 94% of Senate District 7 Republicans – that’s on par with Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick,” said Allen Blakemore, Bettencourt’s senior campaign strategist. “He’s viewed positively by 73%, again on par with Abbott and Patrick. The only Republican political leader better known and better liked is Ted Cruz.
“Campaigns come down to voters casting ballots for whom they know and whom they like. These results show Paul Bettencourt is well known and well liked, making him perfectly positioned to win the upcoming SD7 primary election. For an opponent to be successful he or she would essentially need to move numbers against someone as popular as Greg Abbott,” Blakemore concluded.
The Bettencourt campaign continues to gain strength in grassroots support. For a current list of endorsements, go online to: www.PaulBettencourt.com/endorsements.
Baselice & Associates is among the leading Republican survey research firms nationally and is the dominate polling firm in Texas, having polled for more winning Republican elected officials in Texas than any other polling firm.
